NEW ATTENDANCE OFFICER AT BPC

Bentley Park College has a new Attendance Officer. Lancen Joudo has hung up his bike-helmet and moved back to his native Sydney, but not before handing over his helmet to new recruit Nathan Canuto.

Mr Joudo, a former Northern Pride and Cronulla Sharks Rugby League player, is returning to Sydney to continue to pursue his professional rugby league career. Bentley Park College introduced the role of Attendance Officer in late 2010. It involves liasing with local shops, community visits, liasing with the police and focusing on getting students to class on time and engaged with learning.

“Even though I’ve only been at Bentley for a short time I feel part of the family here” said Mr Joudo. “It will be sad to leave – the kids and staff have been really great and I’ve enjoyed coming to work everyday” he said.

“I am really looking forward to new challenges back home in Sydney, although if the opportunity arises I would really like to come back to Bentley Park College in the future”, said Mr Joudo.

Mr Canuto is more than ready to step up as Attendance Officer. “I’ve done a fair bit of work with indigenous students all over the cape and enjoy building rapport with the kids and helping them”, he said. “Lance’s shoes will be big to fill and my goal is to continue the great work he has done at the college” said Mr Canuto.
