Have your say about speed limits in the CBD!

vehicle_smallThe Cairns CBD generates significant pedestrian activity associated with retail, business, entertainment and tourism, and relies on safe road environments to transport people around on a daily basis.

Research and evidence demonstrates that lower travel speeds reduce the risk of serious crashes, improve pedestrian and cyclist safety, and result in lower fuel emissions. Council has therefore proposed to introduce a 40km/h speed limit in the Cairns CBD.

For more information download the Fact Sheet from Related Documents. And to have your say on the proposal complete this online survey. You can also call Council on 4044 3303 or e-mail feedback@cairns.qld.gov.au.

Feedback closes Friday 4 October 2013.
