Failure to deliver Kate Street Boom Gates in Woree Causes Councillor Concern!

It is always frustrating when I cannot get a satisfactory result for local residents. I have again expressed my concern at the failure of the State Government to install boom gates at the Kate Street level crossing in Woree!

RE: BOOMGATES FOR KATE ST RAILWAY CROSSING

Dear Gavin,

I refer to the above matter and my letter of 14 November 2012, to which I have received no reply.

One great aspect of the current Bruce Highway upgrade work is that two level crossings will be removed completely (Sheehy Road and Anderson Road). However, as soon as the Kowinka Street extension opens, you can be guaranteed of an increased number of vehicles using Kate Street to access the city.

I am very concerned about this matter and request you contact Queensland Rail to have this addressed as a matter of urgency!

Warm regards,

Cr. Rob Pyne.
