Help “Women Arise Cairns Inc.” Assist Women & Children in Crisis!

Women Arise Cairns Inc., is a Women’s Group here in Cairns, that is tirelessly working VPicstowards making the lives of women and children in Cairns and PNG a little bit better, by working together with other organisations, shelters and groups that do assist.

Women Arise Cairns Inc, was created after a National Haus Krai was demonstrated in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea and on that, we hosted the same event here at the Salvation Army Hall on 15 May 2013.

It was to bring to light the violence and abuse faced by our women and children in Papua New Guinea, to seek support to stop, educate and punish those perpetrators and to assist organisations and groups that are leading the way in helping these women and children find shelter and safety…..

Their objectives are:

1.  Support the work of the 3rd Sector (churches, not-for-profit organisations, community gorups etc) in Cairns in its efforts to eliminate all forms of violence against women and children;

2.  Support the initiatives of Women Arise PNG in their efforts to eliminate all forms of violence against women and children in PNG,

3.  Support global advocacy on the elimination of all forms of violence against humanity and,

4.  Promote peace and harmony amongst its members and others.

The Group is Incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1981, Section 15 – Queensland.

Women Arise Cairns REQUIRE OFFICE SPACE so that we may mentor, inspire, coach and assist women who are in shelters and also assist charity or non-for-profit organisations and departments in their work to help those in crises. ‘
