Cool guide to debut at Sustainable Living Expo
Next month’s Sustainable Living Expo is shaping up to be the “coolest” yet.
The expo will feature the launch of Cairns Regional Council’s Cool Homes Guide, which provides information on how to reduce reliance on air-conditioning through “cool” building methods.
As part of the launch, children will have the chance to help build the “coolest cubby ever” and learn more about sustainable design.
The Sustainable Living Expo had become a staple on Council’s events calendar, as the concept of sustainability becomes an important part of the tropical lifestyle.
Each year, the expo is growing in both size and stature, Last year, the free event attracted more than 5000 visitors.
There will also be live music, children’s activities and plenty of demonstrations of ideas you can implement at home,
Stallholder registrations are still being accepted but interested organisations are encouraged to get in quick to avoid disappointment.
It’s a chance for local businesses and community groups to showcase their sustainable products and ideas,
This year, we are particularly encouraging interactive displays that will engage participants. Marquees are supplied and non-profit organisations can access a stall site free of charge.
Presented by Cairns Regional Council, the 2014 Sustainable Living Expo will be held at Fogarty Park on Sunday 22 June from 11am to 4pm.
